The flavor of the area just permeates this book.

@Jen,

I have heard such good things about the others in this series, even from those who didn't really click with this one. I liked the writing, but felt like she decided to turn it into a romance about 2/3 of the way through.

@Hannah,

Yeah, Gage kind of comes out of nowhere. Really really odd how they go from enemies to lovers in what seems like 20 pages.Buriedbybooks https://www.blogger.com/profile/13945897945845383252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4951562957483519143.post-86905479649692344242011-06-16T06:53:57.802-07:002011-06-16T06:53:57.802-07:00I really didn't want to read Blue Eyed Devil a...I really didn't want to read Blue Eyed Devil after Sugar Daddy--I think I didn't want to see more of Hardy Cates--but I read it and enjoyed it as much as the others in the series. I read them in this order--Smooth Talking Stranger, Sugar Daddy, and Blue Eyed Devil. I liked all of the books as much as Kleypas's historicals.
About Sugar Daddy, I wish there had been more about Gage because it was really abrupt how he and Liberty got together.Hannahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16414384560097630774noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4951562957483519143.post-82469558606281328152011-06-15T19:38:56.404-07:002011-06-15T19:38:56.404-07:00Don't give up on this series. I read both of them before reading Sugar Daddy, and I'm so glad I did, because I don't think I'd have continued with the series if I'd read Sugar Daddy first. I agree, it's definitely more women's fiction than romance.JenMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08381388317577838604noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4951562957483519143.post-46969242274333506722011-06-15T17:04:59.979-07:002011-06-15T17:04:59.979-07:00I agree that this is very light on the romance. I had resisted reading it because I love Klepas's historicals. I was surprised by how much I really liked it.Phylhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14665665401551658932noreply@blogger.com
